I want to donate items to Habitat's ReStore. How can I do so?

Bring your reusable home improvement building materials or supplies to Habitat's ReStore. We accept donations until one hour before the store closing time each day. Our staff and volunteers are available to help you unload. Receipts for tax purposes are provided.

I have a bunch of stuff to donate. Will ReStore pick it up?

Pick-up services are also available for large or bulk donations; call (614) 364-7028 to schedule. Pick-ups are usually scheduled for pick-up within one week.

Do I have to uninstall the items from my home that I wish to donate?

Yes. All items must be organized and removed from your home. Items must be in a garage or outside. We will not remove/disconnect items from the house.

Do I have to remove nails etc, or clean my items before donating them?

While reusable items don't have to be in perfect condition, it helps the re-sale potential when items are free of old adhesives and are fairly clean. All nails must be removed. Help us present it in a condition that you would consider buying it if you saw it in the store. Our manpower is limited, so we cannot devote time to cleaning items after them arrive in the store. Your assistance in preparing items for re-sale is appreciated.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Most donations are tax deductible. You will receive a receipt for your donation to use for tax purposes. Habitat's ReStore will not estimate the value of your donation; you will do that.

When can I bring my donation to the store?

Donations may be made at the ReStore until one hour before closing each day. Our staff and volunteer can assist you with unloading.

When is ReStore open to the public?

Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday CLOSED

Are the prices of items negotiable?

We make every effort to monitor the costs of similar products at retail stores, and we typically offer our products for sale at about 50% of the cost of retail. Therefore, since we believe that we are offering our shoppers a deep discount and value for their dollar, we do not negotiate. Remember, all monies earned by ReStore directly offset the administrative costs of Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus and helps to create homeownership for families in our community.

Will you hold an item for me?

Yes. Purchased items can be held for up to 3 days.

Can you deliver my purchase to my home?

No, we are sorry but we do not currently offer delivery services. We have a limited number of trucks, staff, and volunteers and cannot support these additional services.

Can I pay by check or credit card at ReStore?

We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and cash.

May I return my purchase if I find that it is defective or I change my mind?

All sales are final. Please check your items for completeness and proper function before leaving the store. Also, please know the exact measurements for your project before purchasing materials from the store.

If I call the ReStore, can someone locate an item and price for me?

Our staff and volunteers have a pretty good sense of what is or isn't available in the store at a given time. If we can assist you, we will. However, we cannot assure you that an item will be available or that you will be satisfied with its condition. Therefore, we recommend you come in person to shop for the items you are seeking.

The Restore Cycle

See How It Works

The Habitat ReStore plays an important role in the effort to eliminate substandard housing.  Your donations are sold and the proceeds offset most of Habitat MidOhio's administrative costs-so cash contributions go directly toward building homes for deserving families.
